About the Role
Not all Occupational Therapy jobs are in the NHS. Are you looking for a new challenge and a chance to support the development of an innovative paediatric service? Join the Therapies team at the London Borough of Redbridge. We are delighted to offer 2 committed and dynamic experienced Occupational Therapists the opportunity to join our Community Children's Occupational Therapy SEND therapies service.

Redbridge Education, Access and Inclusion Services provide exceptional specialist support to a wide range of schools and education settings. Since September 2021, this central service has expanded to include a dedicated school-focused Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy service.

The service works with children in both mainstream and special schools to provide interventions and support that improve their ability to engage in education and develop skills for independence and optimal function. You will work with children who have a wide variety of physical and learning needs including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Global Developmental Delay. Responsibilities include assessing functional needs, developing and modelling intervention plans, and evaluating progress.

Our aim is to provide training and advice to schools, equipping teachers and staff with the tools to develop each child as an individual using an inclusive and functional approach to learning.

We work in close partnership with colleagues in health, education, and social care to provide a high-quality service. We are looking for someone highly motivated and enthusiastic to join our team, ideally with previous experience working with children.

We offer excellent CPD opportunities and career progression, a supportive management team, regular team meetings, peer support and supervision, clinical focus groups, and opportunities to attend Regional Networks. In-Service Training includes areas of clinical leadership. Annual appraisal, opportunities to contribute to Local Authority quality improvement work and innovations, and involvement in team annual planning are also provided.

Additional benefits include a competitive salary and pension package, a range of lifestyle, retail and leisure discounts, and a generous annual leave allowance.
