About the Role
As Office Manager, you will lead and manage the Personal Assistant function, ensuring the Chief Customer Officer and Directors across the Customer Directorate receive proactive, professional, consistent and resilient support. You will oversee workloads, priorities, service standards and ways of working across the team, making sure resources are used effectively and senior leaders are well prepared for meetings, decisions and key organisational deadlines. This varied people management role involves building a collaborative, high-performing and customer-focused team culture while improving administrative processes, strengthening governance support and ensuring excellent service across the Directorate.

Your key responsibilities will include leading and managing the PA team, including recruitment, induction, performance management, wellbeing, coaching and professional development; overseeing schedules, documents, reports and information to fully support senior leaders; planning, organising and coordinating monthly Customer Senior Leadership Team meetings including agendas, papers, actions and follow-up; regularly reviewing team workloads and capacity to allocate resources and prioritise support; coordinating cover arrangements during absences or peak demand; developing and maintaining consistent service standards, team processes and ways of working; supporting forward planning across the Directorate to ensure effective coordination of meetings, governance activity and key deadlines; and building strong working relationships with Directors, the Governance Directorate and other internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Experience
- Managing an administrative, Personal Assistant or executive support team
- Supporting senior leaders within a large or complex organisation
- Coordinating senior leadership meetings, governance activity or committee processes
- Strong organisational and operational management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Coaching, developing and motivating team members to deliver high standards of service

About you
You are proactive, solutions-focused and possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. You are committed to delivering great service and building a positive team culture. Experience within housing, local government or another regulated environment is desirable, as is knowledge of governance and committee processes and experience implementing service improvements or shared support models.

Qualifications
Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.
