Multiple locations across London including Isleworth Crown Court (TW7 5LP), Kingston-Upon-Thames Crown Court (KT1 2BB), Woolwich Crown Court (SE28 0EY), Southwark Crown Court (SE1 2HU), Snaresbrook Crown Court (E11 1QW), Inner London Crown Court (SE1 6AZ), Croydon Crown Court (CR9 5AB), London Central Employment Tribunal (EC1A 7AZ), Croydon Employment Tribunal (CR0 2RF), East London Tribunal Hearing Centre (E14 2BE), Taylor House Tribunal Hearing Centre (EC1R 4QU), Court of Protection (WC1A 9JA), Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court (SW11 1JU).
Hours
Full Time - 37 hours per week. Part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns may be considered where business needs allow. Crown Court roles require a minimum commitment of three full days per week. Tribunal roles are full time only. Some Magistrates’ Courts require Saturday and Public Holiday working on a 5 days over 6 day pattern with time off in lieu.
Salary
£30,109 per annum plus £8,722 employer pension contribution.
About the Role
As an Operational Support Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and administrative support within HM Courts and Tribunals Service. Working as part of a team, you will help progress cases through the court and tribunal system, supporting judiciary, court users, and management. Your duties will include preparing papers and files for hearings, processing sensitive information, maintaining accurate digital records, communicating with the public and legal professionals, and supporting the smooth running of court proceedings. You will often be the first point of contact for court users, including vulnerable witnesses, ensuring a professional and empathetic service. The role requires adaptability, multitasking, and the ability to work both in an office environment and court settings. Some locations require successful completion of Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) vetting. Occasional travel to other courts may be required.
Experience
Strong customer service experience in a service-led, customer-facing environment is essential. Experience in administration, IT systems, and attention to detail in handling sensitive information is highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills are required, including confident interaction in person, by telephone, digitally, and in writing. You must be a team player, able to work collaboratively and flexibly to meet HMCTS objectives. Adaptability and the ability to multitask effectively are important.
