About the Role
United Colleges Group (UCG) provides education to over 11,000 learners annually across five campuses and two colleges, including City of Westminster College and College of North West London. As a Physics Lecturer within the A-Levels, Science, Higher Education Career Cluster, you will coordinate the effective delivery of Physics study programmes across various levels, providing academic leadership and creating an engaging, relevant, and coherent curriculum aligned with local and national priorities. You will develop and maintain up-to-date industry knowledge, incorporating industry professionals where possible to enhance employability and skills development for students. Your role includes supporting and motivating learners to meet their individual aspirations and goals, tracking learner achievements, and leading study programmes to achieve outstanding student retention, progression, and achievement. You will work collaboratively within a team, contributing positively and creatively to the learning environment. The position is fixed term and full time.
Experience
Familiarity with the current Physics curriculum is essential. Experience working with students aged 16-19 and the ability to motivate and manage classroom groups effectively is highly beneficial. Industry experience is welcomed.
About you
You should have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and earn the respect of students of all abilities. A student-centred approach with flexibility in teaching methods and classroom management is required. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a team are essential.
Qualifications
A degree or equivalent qualification in a related area is required. You will be expected to work towards a recognised Level 4 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or a Level 5 teaching qualification upon appointment if not already qualified.
