About the Role
As part of Croydon Council’s ambitions for sustainable growth, this role focuses on enhancing service delivery through a proactive and robust planning enforcement regime. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving alleged breaches of planning control through negotiation and/or the service of enforcement notices, with follow-up legal proceedings as appropriate. Working within a vibrant and busy Development Management Service, you will undertake regular site visits and attend the office a minimum of two days per week. The role requires enthusiasm, motivation, a general understanding of town planning legislation, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines while managing a demanding caseload. Ability to drive and access to a car is essential. Permanent and 2-year fixed term contracts are available.

Experience
General understanding of town planning legislation is required. Experience in planning enforcement or related fields is advantageous but not explicitly stated.
