About the Role
We are seeking a Policy Advisor to join the Legislative Delivery Team within the Strategy Group at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of legislation affecting medicines, medical devices, and fees, directly impacting public health, patients, and the life sciences industry.
The Strategy Group brings together policy, regulatory reform, legislative delivery, strategic coordination, and stakeholder engagement functions to support MHRA corporate priorities. The Legislative Delivery team are experts in delivering primary legislation and statutory instruments, working closely with technical experts, government departments, and external health organisations.
This role involves managing legislative initiatives, convening expert groups, engaging stakeholders, developing policy, coordinating regulatory reform responses, managing legislation through parliamentary processes, and overseeing project delivery across multidisciplinary teams. You will work in a flexible hybrid environment, with a minimum of 8 days per month on site, with potential to flex up to 12 days depending on business needs.
Experience
- Experience in a relevant area within the civil service or other organisations, providing an understanding of working in or with the public sector.
- Previous experience in health, life sciences, or regulatory environments is desirable.
- Previous experience working on legislation is desirable.
