About the Role
We are seeking a Scientific Assessor to join the Established Medicines (Parallel Imports Team) within the Healthcare Quality & Access group at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This permanent, full-time role involves evaluating and approving applications for Parallel Import Licences, including new applications, variations, renewals, and updates to patient information leaflets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the continued safe use of medicines.
The Parallel Import Unit is responsible for licensing activities related to the parallel importation of medicinal products from within the European Union. You will assess therapeutic equivalence, evaluate labels and leaflets, interpret complex data, prepare detailed assessment reports, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders including European regulatory authorities. You will also provide training and support to new assessors and contribute to meeting performance and quality targets.
The MHRA operates a flexible hybrid working model with a minimum of 8 days per month on site, which may flex up to 12 days depending on business needs, with the remainder of time worked remotely or in the office.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in analysing and interpreting complex information with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and consistently meet targets.

Qualifications
Honours degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Physiology or another Biological Science.
