About the Role
What if you could shape a career as unique as you? At WSP, you can always find opportunities to grow and do what matters to you. Make the most of our global reach to discover new challenges and chances to work with diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons. As a Principal Fire Engineer, you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects at once, from a university in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London, including many international projects. Your goal will be to enable innovative architectural design without compromising on the fire safety of the building. You will review design information, liaise with other WSP disciplines such as Facades, Acoustics, and Structures, present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and advise the design team on potential changes to increase building safety. You will be supported through training on various software packages, fire standards, team briefings, and client updates. We foster a collaborative and friendly environment with regular social events. Additionally, we will assist you towards professional registration via IFE and other organisations. Our bespoke development programme, supported by senior leadership, offers professional skills and specialist technical training to help you work towards chartered status or equivalent qualifications. Training includes technical report writing, team-specific technical skills, project management (introductory and advanced), influential communications, commercial concepts, collaborative team challenges, and continuous improvement.
