About the Role
This dynamic role sits at the heart of the Service Development team, shaping and driving forward innovative policy, impactful resources, and inspiring learning and development opportunities across the service. You will play a key part in creating the Lambeth Council Tax Support scheme, ensuring everything delivered is powered by legislation, case law, and the latest government guidance. Working in close partnership with providers and colleagues, the team leads the way in identifying and defining specified accommodation housing schemes—making a real difference.

Located in the heart of South London, Lambeth Borough is a vibrant community of over 317,600 residents, stretching from Streatham in the South to Waterloo in the North. Lambeth is the 9th largest borough in London, with a rich diversity including more than 130 languages spoken, the home of the Windrush generation, London's largest LGBTQ+ community, and a thriving Portuguese-speaking community.

The Public Health department hosts specialist commissioning teams including sexual and reproductive health, HIV, and substance misuse, supporting services across five local authorities and the southeast London integrated care board. This role supports commissioners and public health specialists in discharging their responsibilities.

The Service Development team is small and agile, focused on shaping the future of the Revenue and Benefits Service by driving efficiency, sparking innovation, and elevating the customer experience. Experience
Experience in policy development, service improvement, or commissioning within a public sector or similar environment is desirable. Ability to interpret legislation, case law, and government guidance is essential.

Qualifications
