About the Role
Private Wealth Management (PWM) secures, develops, and manages relationships with high-net-worth individuals, their families, family offices, and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation tailored to each client’s risk tolerance, providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services, including private banking and trust company services.
The Goldman Partner Office Planning team (GPOP) works closely with private wealth advisors to develop strong relationships with EMEA and APAC-based Goldman Sachs Partners, the firm’s most senior executives. The team delivers a comprehensive suite of wealth planning and family office services, including wealth reporting, cash flow management, income tax planning, trust and estate planning, philanthropic giving, concierge services, and general administrative support.
As an Associate on the EMEA GPOP team, you will leverage your UK tax expertise to help deliver a consistent, high-standard Family Office service. Responsibilities include assisting in executing financial action plans such as wealth transfer, income tax, and charitable giving; preparing and developing wealth reports and custom reporting including share summaries, cash flow, capital gains base cost calculations, balance sheets, and estate planning; managing non-investment client aspects such as estates, trusts, artwork, real estate, and financial holdings; coordinating with external vendors on tax return preparation; collaborating with project managers and engineering teams to automate processes and improve productivity; and maintaining strong relationships with private wealth advisor teams, internal Goldman Sachs departments, and external trustees, attorneys, accountants, and other professional service providers to meet wealth planning objectives.
Experience
- UK tax knowledge within Private Wealth Management, ideally assisting high net worth clients with asset protection, life insurance, trust and estate planning
- Expertise in tax implications of investment portfolios and estate planning entities
- Experience with executive employee benefits and compensation packages, including company share schemes
- Skilled in working with unstructured datasets and advanced Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
- Experience interfacing with trustees, attorneys, accountants, and other advisors in private client wealth planning
- Experience presenting to internal and external audiences

Qualifications
