The Procurement Inventory Operative plays a vital role in maintaining effective inventory and supply chain operations across the Trust. This includes ensuring timely delivery, replenishment, and accurate stock management to support wards and departments. The role involves inventory analysis, system administration, stock optimisation, and procurement liaison activities, all while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and Trust policies. The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to maximise cost efficiency, service performance, and stock availability.

Main Duties
- Transport supplies securely across the Trust, ensuring safe handling of heavy and large items
- Verify deliveries against requisitions, investigate discrepancies, arrange uplifts, and request credits where necessary
- Analyse data on stock levels, orders, deliveries, receipts, lost/damaged items, repairs, or returns
- Participate in the development of relevant service policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with procedures and legislation when transporting and storing hazardous substances
- Accurately enter data onto procurement supply chain systems
- Provide advice and guidance to ward and department budget holders on stock management best practices
- Advise on stock level changes to maintain efficient inventory systems
- Manage remote access bars within designated areas
- Meet Smartstore cabinet KPIs including cycle counting and removal of expired or recalled stock
- Train new staff on Smartstore system replenishment and management processes as required
- Assist ward and department managers with purchase and stock level management
- Act as liaison between wards, clinical departments, and the Procurement Department
- Work with staff to maximise cost effectiveness when priorities conflict

Experience
- Experience working in inventory, stores, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain environments
- Experience using inventory management systems, electronic stock control systems, or barcode scanning equipment
- Experience working to accuracy, quality, and performance targets
- Desirable: Experience in healthcare/NHS settings
- Desirable: Experience conducting inventory audits and investigating stock discrepancies
- Desirable: Experience monitoring and reducing stock waste and expired products
