This Programme and Project Controls / PMO Senior Consultant role involves supporting clients with the development and implementation of robust controls processes, procedures, and tools to ensure successful execution of projects, programmes, and portfolios. You will provide constructive challenge to delivery teams and undertake analysis and assurance to support client decision-making.
Key responsibilities include driving transparency and visibility of progress and performance across all project and programme lifecycle stages, analysing and interpreting performance data to identify trends and areas for investigation, and presenting data to non-technical stakeholders to support decision-making. You will oversee programme controls and reporting systems including planning & scheduling, change control, risk, and cost control. Additionally, you will lead the setup and ongoing development of internal and external progress reporting processes and tools, including Power BI where required. You will develop, implement, and manage control processes and tools such as change control, reporting, risk, and schedule, support continuous improvement initiatives, and assist with project and programme governance and assurance processes.

Experience
- Experience working in programme and project controls within major construction or infrastructure programmes
- Experience engaging with and translating programme data for diverse and challenging stakeholders
- Understanding of public sector programme and project delivery environments
- Experience working within a consultancy and developing PMO services
- Demonstrable experience presenting programme performance data using digital tools including Power BI

Qualifications
- Preferably educated to degree or equivalent level in a relevant field
- Achieved or working towards a recognised Programme Management qualification (e.g. Risk Management, IRM, MoR, PRINCE2) or Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ)
- Health and life sciences experience is not essential but would be an advantage
