22.2 hours per week (0.6fte), Monday to Friday including evenings and Saturdays as required, with potential to increase to 29.6 hours per week (0.8fte) for 1 year due to additional funding (subject to 6 month review)
Salary
£40,965 - £46,671 per annum pro-rata (actual £24,579 - £28,002.60 per annum) plus £579 pro-rata fringe allowance (actual £347.40 per annum), depending on qualifications and experience
About the Role
Thurrock Adult Community College is the local authority’s provider of adult education for Thurrock, delivering courses across the borough from its main base in the Old Court House, Grays. We are a strong standard provider, offering a rewarding and inspiring environment for both staff and learners.
You will be learner focused, demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for adult learning, contributing positively to the college’s mission to make a difference to local people and communities.
In this role, you will manage, inspire and motivate a small but growing team of tutors delivering accredited (functional skills) and non-accredited English, maths and Essential Digital Skills courses. You will ensure that planning, delivery, and monitoring of teaching, learning and assessment meet the highest standards.
You will manage and develop a designated portfolio of English, maths and Digital Skills courses, ensuring learners reach their full potential and the college maximises funding drawdown.
Your focus will be on maintaining a strong standard of quality provision, resulting in high attendance, retention and achievement rates.
This is a permanent contract, 52 weeks per year, with a supportive and inclusive working environment.
Experience
Proven experience in a similar role managing adult education programmes.
Experience teaching adults, curriculum design and management in adult education.
Experience in quality management and improvement.
Knowledge of current adult education funding rules.

Qualifications
