Salary
Belgium Salary Range: EUR 69,600 to EUR 116,000 per annum. This range reflects factors including skills, experience, education level and market rate. The role may also include an annual bonus and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program. Salary ranges for other locations will be discussed during recruitment.
About the Role
The External Manufacturing-Drug Product (EM-DP) Project Specialist is responsible for providing project oversight for Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs) through the Procurement, Quality, Technical, Supply + (PQTS +) team. Acting as the key liaison between GSK and CMOs/suppliers, you will drive technology transfer activities, mitigate risks, and resolve issues. You may work alongside a Project Manager or Supply Director to deliver technology transfer schedules through to product launch, preparing for operationalising new suppliers or molecules within the EM-DP network.
You will leverage supplier relationships to accelerate project timelines and deliver within budget. Partnering with the Supply Director, you will communicate with GSK Senior Leadership teams and manage project escalations. As part of the cross-functional PQTS+ team, you will integrate internal and external product schedules to maintain a single critical path and ensure technical transfer deliverables are met.
The CMOs within EM-DP include sterile drug products such as monoclonal antibodies, antibody drug conjugates, small molecules, vaccines, water-for-injection (WFI), and adjuvants.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering the overarching project schedule maintaining critical path and budget adherence
- Assisting in risk identification and mitigation of issues delaying critical path delivery
- Articulating issues or misalignments with suppliers and collaborating with relationship managers or Supply Director to resolve them
- Building strong, trust-based relationships with project team members across PQTS+ and external suppliers
- Establishing project organizational structure and maintaining governance throughout technology transfer
- Organizing information for program milestone and escalation communication across leadership levels and reporting KPIs
- Facilitating alignment between Quality and MSAT organizations within GSK and suppliers for timely execution of technology transfer deliverables
- Managing overall project priorities, risks, and issues with appropriate and timely escalation
- Driving continuous improvement on project delivery with assigned CMOs or assets
- Ensuring retention of manufacturing know-how, relationship history, and technical knowledge for future supply continuity
Experience
Degree (or international equivalent) in Business, Supply Chain, Technical, Procurement, Biotechnology, Biologics, Engineering, Logistics, Finance, or Quality.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a GMP background.
Experience managing projects at internal or external facilities.
Understanding of project governance, escalation processes, and senior stakeholder communication.
Knowledge of technical transfer processes including risk, issue, timeline, and budget management.
Understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain Management including financial acumen.
