About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for an experienced, skilled and dynamic Property Lawyer to join the Council and provide a comprehensive and professional legal service on a permanent basis. You will report to the Principal Lawyer – Property and Planning within the Legal Department and work closely with other Council departmental clients and specialist departments. Your role will involve providing expert advice and guidance on all aspects of property-related development work, including residential and commercial property cases, regeneration, homeownership, and land transactions. You will conduct a full range of cases and may undertake advocacy in Courts or Tribunals if required. This role requires managing a complex and varied caseload independently while utilising your skills and experience gained in a similar position.
Experience
Proven experience in property development work, preferably within a local government context. Experience handling residential and commercial property cases. Advocacy experience is required but not essential.
About you
A skilled and dynamic legal professional capable of managing a caseload independently. Excellent knowledge of property law and local government law. Ability to provide practical advice and guidance on complex property matters. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various Council departments.
Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX or equivalent legal qualification. Demonstrable expertise in property law and related legal practices.
