£55,988 per annum
Up to 4% discretionary bonus scheme, subject to achievement of targets
Overtime paid at time and a half

About the Role
Are you a Senior Refrigeration Engineer ready to step up into a Managing Engineer role? Or are you already a Managing Engineer seeking to join a strong and stable company within the Supermarket FM sector? This role offers the opportunity to lead a team of Refrigeration Engineers, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance tasks are completed on time and within budget. You will manage the call-out rota to guarantee safe and adequate cover at all times.
Key responsibilities include supervising and supporting your team daily, providing technical guidance and training, managing staffing and on-call rotas, and assisting the Area Support Manager with HR processes such as return to work forms, disciplinary handling, performance reviews, holiday scheduling, and accident investigations.
You will also provide technical support for major operational issues, help deliver high-quality planned preventative maintenance (PPM), manage health and safety compliance, and assist with budgetary control of parts and materials. Representing the business at client and manager meetings within your region will also be part of your role.
This position requires someone who thrives working autonomously in a pressurised environment, can prioritise a complex workload, and communicates effectively with clients, colleagues, and store teams. A customer service-driven mindset and ability to work well within a people-focused environment are essential.

Experience
Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience working on a mobile basis in refrigeration engineering within an FM environment, specifically in supermarkets.
Demonstrable management or supervisory experience is desirable.
Proven ability to supervise engineers in a pressurised environment, liaising with store teams and the public.

Qualifications
City & Guilds qualified in Refrigeration (or equivalent), including F-Gas certification.
Full UK driving licence is essential.
18th Edition qualification is desirable but not essential.
