£57,668 per annum
Up to 4% discretionary bonus scheme, subject to achievement of targets
Overtime paid at time and a half

About the Role
Are you a Senior Refrigeration Engineer ready to step into a Managing Engineer role? Or are you an experienced Managing Engineer looking to join a strong and stable company within the Supermarket FM sector? This role offers responsibility for leading a team of Refrigeration Engineers to ensure planned and reactive maintenance tasks are completed on time and within budget. You will manage the call-out rota to ensure safe and adequate cover at all times.

You will supervise the team as their daily point of contact, providing management support, guidance, training, and development to maintain a consistent, high level of customer service. You will provide technical support and training, control staffing including the on-call rota, and assist the Area Support Manager with HR processes such as return to work forms, disciplinary handling, performance reviews, holiday scheduling, and accident investigations.

Additional responsibilities include delivering high-quality planned preventative maintenance (PPM), managing health and safety issues in your area, assisting with budgetary management of parts and materials, and representing the business at client and manager meetings.

This role requires someone who enjoys working autonomously in a pressurised environment, can prioritise a complex workload, and has excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, colleagues, and store teams. A customer service-driven attitude and ability to work within a people-focused environment are essential.

Experience
Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience working on a mobile basis in refrigeration engineering
Proven experience within supermarket refrigeration in an FM environment
Demonstrable management or supervisory experience is desirable

Capable of supervising engineers in a pressurised environment while dealing with store teams and members of the public
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a complex and demanding workload
Customer service focused and able to work autonomously

Qualifications
City & Guilds qualified in Refrigeration (or equivalent), including F-Gas certification
Full UK driving licence is essential
18th Edition qualification is desirable but not essential
