Main job duties: The post is line managed by the Head of Nursing for Transplant, Renal and Urology and will be professionally supported and supervised by a Consultant Clinical Health Psychologist within the Cancer and Surgery Clinical Group. The post holder will have key relationships with multiple professionals within the Directorate, which covers a wide geographical remit across London and the South East. Main duties of the role are as per the Job Description but include: To lead and deliver a highly specialist psychology service for the psychological care of patients and carers within the Renal Service and offer an outreach service to patients at satellite units / kidney treatment centres when indicated by patient need. To provide specialist assessment, formulation, and treatment to adults and young people (mostly 16 years upwards) with renal conditions, on an inpatient and outpatient basis Providing support, teaching, and training to staff from other professional groups within the Directorate. To provide professional and clinical supervision to Band 7 Psychologist in the Renal Psychologist according to HPC/BPS and Trust Guidelines, as well as MSc Health Psychology students and undergraduate students who undertake placements within the service.
