This role focuses on driving business development activities and expanding the Oncology and Haematology Clinical Trials (OHCT) capabilities in clinical research, with particular emphasis on Trust research priorities such as Immune Effector Cell Therapies. The post holder will oversee the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the research portfolio and foster collaborations with industry partners.

Responsibilities include financial management of clinical trials, overseeing non-commercial funding and commercial trial income, and working closely with the OHCT Clinical Trial Manager to monitor profitability and reinvestment opportunities. The role also involves managing the timely set-up of commercial and non-commercial clinical trials, directing and line-managing the set-up team including the OHCT Set-Up Specialist, Imaging and Pathology Coordinator, and a team of data managers.

This position will enhance Oncology and Haematology research opportunities at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust, providing a competitive edge by facilitating the development of new therapies and increasing access to trials and treatments for researchers and patients.

Experience
- Experience of initiation of clinical trials including feasibility reviews and budget negotiation
- Extensive experience relevant to the field of Oncology and Haematology
- Experience of developing systems for information dissemination and performance monitoring
- Leadership and management experience

Qualifications
- Educated to masters degree level or equivalent (essential)
- Relevant project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2) (desirable)
