About the Role
Meta is seeking Research Scientists to join a research team within Meta Reality Labs. Our team is developing advanced technology at the intersection of computer vision and generative AI. We are working on an initiative to bring photorealistic, real-time holographic communication to AR/VR glasses, enabling seamless, lifelike presence in mixed reality and transforming how people connect across distances. Beyond Hologram, we are advancing Family of Apps (FoA) applications, including auto-translation with realistic lipsync on Instagram, allowing creators to reach global audiences authentically. You will have the opportunity to work with a broad and highly interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and cross-functional partners, with access to cutting-edge technology, important resources, and research facilities. Responsibilities include conducting research that extends foundation models through model fine-tuning, working towards long-term ambitious research goals while identifying intermediate milestones, influencing the progress of relevant research communities by producing publications, contributing research applicable to Meta product development, and leading and collaborating on research projects within a globally based team.
Experience
- First-author publications at peer-reviewed AI/CV conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV)
- Experience in computer vision and/or generative models (e.g., diffusion models, DiT for video generation)
- Experience in training, fine-tuning, and/or experimenting with foundation models beyond black-box use
- Familiarity with one or more deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience communicating complex research to public audiences of peers
- Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment
- Experience in coordinating the research of PhD students or other researchers
- Experience in AI research beyond completing a PhD
- Experience in developing and debugging beyond ML experimentation
- Experience working in an industry research environment
- Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and broad points of view to determine a path forward
- High-impact publications at peer-reviewed AI/CV conferences, as evidenced by citations and influence on the research community
- Experience with video generation, neural rendering, or 3D reconstruction
About you
You are a motivated and collaborative researcher passionate about advancing AI and computer vision technologies. You thrive in interdisciplinary teams and are eager to contribute to both foundational research and applied product development. You communicate effectively with diverse audiences and are committed to pushing the boundaries of technology to create impactful user experiences.
Qualifications
Currently have or are in the process of obtaining a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar quantitative field.
