About the Role
Goldman Sachs's Model Risk Management (MRM) team plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and soundness of the firm's models. The MRM group independently validates a diverse set of models, including AI and machine learning models, used across the firm. This role offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to the firm's overall model risk management framework and AI model validation.

The MRM group is a multidisciplinary team of quantitative experts with a presence in multiple global locations. It is responsible for independent oversight of model risk, ensuring compliance with firmwide policies on model control and related standards. The group manages risks arising from models used in various business areas, including derivatives valuation, risk management, liquidity, and capital computations.

As an AI Model Risk Associate, you will play a crucial role in validating the firm's AI models, ensuring their accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with AI researchers, model developers, and other stakeholders to understand model methodologies, assess risks, and implement validation plans and benchmarking models.

Key responsibilities include independently validating AI model performance, accuracy, explainability, and robustness; developing and implementing validation methodologies and benchmark models; conducting thorough testing and analysis of model outputs; identifying and documenting potential risks and limitations; and collaborating with developers and business stakeholders to address issues and improve model performance.

Requirements

Experience
Experience with AI model validation or quantitative analysis is highly desirable. Familiarity with statistical modelling and machine learning algorithms is important. Programming expertise in Python, including experience with data science libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, is required.

About you
You are a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. You demonstrate curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. You have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of model risk management.

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field is required.
