About the Role
The Risk Division at Goldman Sachs is responsible for managing the firm’s credit, market, liquidity, operational, and capital risk. This role combines independent second-line oversight with a strong advisory mandate, partnering with Asset Management business leaders to provide practical, risk-based guidance that supports sound decision-making and strategic growth. You will serve as a trusted operational risk advisor, overseeing the operational risk framework within the second line of defense while working closely with the first line. Key responsibilities include facilitating operational risk event management, performing data analysis to identify risk themes and trends, ensuring risk and control self-assessments remain accurate, conducting scenario analysis for stress testing and capital calculations, and contributing to the advancement of operational risk methods and practices. You will also create management reporting using advanced data visualization tools and develop clear, decision-oriented presentations for senior management and regulatory engagement. Additionally, you will review new business initiatives and firm acquisitions to identify changes to the operational risk profile.

Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in operational risk or within Asset and Wealth Management.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present with impact and build consensus across senior stakeholder groups. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivery. Quick learner who thrives working both independently and as part of a cross-regional team.

Qualifications
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required; experience with Alteryx is a plus.
