About the Role
Are you a dynamic individual with technical know-how and a strong customer service focus? Havering Council is seeking a School IT Support Associate to join the traded services team, delivering IT services to schools across Havering and nearby areas. This role involves travelling between school sites to provide hands-on IT support, troubleshooting issues, building relationships, and ensuring smooth IT operations.
You will assist a team of engineers with projects such as installing networks, Wi-Fi, and Cloud solutions, as well as supporting the 1st and 2nd line functions of the service desk. This is an excellent opportunity for IT apprentices, junior technicians, or those looking to take on more responsibility and make a difference in school IT environments.
Training and support will be provided to help you develop your skills and fill any knowledge gaps.
Experience
Previous customer service experience is essential. Experience supporting a range of technical services including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop (Windows), cloud-based services (Microsoft 365, Google, Apple), network and server management within an ITIL environment is desirable. Experience delivering against service level agreements is also beneficial.
About you
You should have excellent communication skills and a positive, ‘can do’ attitude. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and develop strong working relationships is essential. Willingness to learn and adapt is important, especially if you are not fully up to speed in all technical areas.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required for this role, but relevant IT qualifications or apprenticeship experience will be advantageous. A commitment to ongoing professional development and training will be supported.
