About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for an experienced Senior Civil Litigation Lawyer (Debt Recovery) to join the Council and provide a comprehensive and professional legal service in this area. Reporting to the Principal Lawyer – Litigation within the Legal Department, you will deliver expert advice and guidance on all aspects of civil litigation law with a focus on debt recovery and housing law.

Your responsibilities will include providing advocacy services at public inquiries, tribunals, and civil courts in relation to your specialism. You will manage a complex and varied caseload involving civil litigation and debt recovery matters, utilising your skills and experience gained in similar roles. You will work with minimal supervision while supporting the Council’s objectives and legal requirements.

Experience
- Proven experience in civil litigation cases, preferably within a local government context
- Experience managing a wide and varied workload with minimal supervision
- Skilled in advocacy and handling complex civil litigation and debt recovery matters

- Strong knowledge of civil litigation law and practice
- Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload effectively

Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, CILEX or equivalent legal qualification
