About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for an experienced Senior Civil Litigation Lawyer (Debt Recovery) to join the Council and provide a comprehensive and professional legal service in this area. You will report to the Principal Lawyer – Litigation within the Legal Department and provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of civil litigation law with a focus on debt recovery, including housing law.
Your responsibilities will include provision of advocacy services at public inquiries, before tribunals, and in civil courts in civil proceedings related to your area of specialism. You will carry a complex and varied caseload in civil litigation and debt recovery matters, utilising your skills and experience gained in similar roles. You will work with minimal supervision while reporting to the Principal Lawyer (Litigation).

Experience
- Proven experience in civil litigation cases, preferably within a local government context.
- Experience managing a wide and varied workload with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in advocacy and handling complex civil litigation and debt recovery cases.

Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, CILEX or equivalent legal qualification.
