About the Role
The successful applicant will engage in a range of specialised surgery across both Guys and St Thomas sites, developing a broad interest in all aspects of orthopaedic knee surgery while furthering their medical training. You will actively participate in departmental audit and clinical governance activities, contributing to the provision of specialist orthopaedic services to the Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. Responsibilities include: (a) Diagnosis and treatment of patients in various settings as required, (b) Continuing clinical responsibility for patients, ensuring proper delegation and training of staff. This role involves on-call work, including weekends and evenings, and may require working at different locations owned or served by the trust. You will also be responsible for training junior staff and contributing to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Participation in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit and protocol development, is expected, along with evidence of your contributions during appraisal.
Experience
Experience in orthopaedic surgery is essential, with a focus on knee procedures.

Qualifications
A medical degree and relevant postgraduate qualifications in orthopaedics are required.
