About the Role
At Balfour Beatty, we're shaping the future of infrastructure. As a Senior Craftsperson - Mechanical, you'll play a key role in delivering temporary mechanical site services on the Old Oak Common project, helping to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical craftsperson who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and takes pride in delivering quality work in a fast-paced construction environment.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the planning and day-to-day delivery of temporary mechanical site services, working closely with Project Engineers and Supervisors to ensure works are completed safely and effectively. You will follow Work Package Plans, Risk Assessments, Task Briefing Sheets and toolbox talks, identify hazards and proactively implement appropriate controls, and assist in maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
Additional duties include inspecting and maintaining plant, equipment and small tools before use, supporting quality assurance activities including BIM Field 360 inspections, monitoring workmanship and promoting a Right First Time culture, reporting non-conformances and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. You will also review plant and tool requirements, identify future site needs, highlight opportunities for efficiency improvements and reducing material waste, and support the delivery of Balfour Beatty's sustainability commitments.
