About the Role
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry across the United Kingdom. As an independent arm’s length body of the Home Office, the SIA protects the public by ensuring that private security operatives are fit, properly trained, and qualified. The SIA also manages a voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme to raise standards within the sector.
We are seeking a commercially astute Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Finance and Procurement team. This highly visible role involves working closely with budget holders, Directors, Heads of Department, and the Executive Team to provide strategic financial advice, insight, and constructive challenge.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for a portfolio exceeding £50 million in resource expenditure and £7 million in capital. You will ensure robust forecasts, identify savings opportunities, promote value for money, and lead the production of management accounts, reports, and financial returns. You will also support the implementation of Martyn’s Law and help the organisation navigate its dual funding model to strengthen financial management and achieve cost recovery.
In addition, you will strengthen governance and financial controls, challenge business plans, and assist colleagues in translating new requirements into effective delivery. You will line manage one finance colleague, support key finance systems, and deliver training on financial best practices.

Experience
- CCAB, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong financial and commercial expertise including budget management and value for money.
- Experience providing strategic financial advice and supporting senior-level decision-making.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and influence at senior levels.
- Comprehensive understanding of Managing Public Money and Consolidated Budgeting Guidance or equivalent financial control frameworks.
- Experience working within the public sector finance environment.
