About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. Our services include cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory and cardiovascular care, alongside the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre. We also provide specialist children’s services through Evelina London Children’s Hospital and deliver extensive community services in partnership with local authorities and healthcare organisations.

As Senior Internal Communications Officer, you will join our award-winning communications team to support one of the largest and most engaged workforces in the NHS. You will be a trusted advisor on internal communications, working closely with directors and senior managers to deliver clear, timely, and effective communications that inform, involve and inspire our 23,500+ staff.

You will lead on a wide range of communications activities including all-staff briefings, priority operational messages, targeted campaigns and awareness days. You will champion staff voices, ensuring their views and expertise shape our communications and organisational culture. This role requires a creative thinker and superb writer who is calm under pressure and able to develop and deliver comprehensive communications plans.

The role involves managing key internal communications channels such as the twice-weekly staff bulletin, daily desktop wallpapers, the Trust intranet homepage, and supporting major programmes including Future Ready, equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, staff health and wellbeing, and CQC inspection preparedness.

Our communications team offers a comprehensive service including internal and external communications, media handling, social media, digital communications, corporate publications and patient information. We work closely with clinical and corporate teams to ensure consistent, high-quality messaging that supports the Trust’s mission and values.
