The Integrated Local Services (ILS) directorate delivers community and inpatient health services for adults in Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham. Services include Neighbourhood Nursing, Specialist Rehabilitation and Reablement, Palliative and End of Life Care, Adults With Learning Disabilities, Homeless and High Intensity User services, Refugee and Asylum Seeker service, Tobacco Dependence Treatment, Weight Management, GSTT@Home, and site administration. These services operate across various community locations and hospital sites, working closely with inpatient teams, social services, mental health services, and the voluntary sector.

This senior governance role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the clinical governance agenda within the directorate. You will work closely with Heads of Nursing, the General Manager, and Clinical Director to oversee systems and processes for monitoring and improving services, including risk management, clinical audit, clinical effectiveness programs, staffing, education, training, and information use. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust governance and quality assurance during a period of continued development and transformation of community services.

Main Duties
- Provide multidisciplinary clinical staff with support to implement clinical governance principles and practices effectively
- Lead the development and implementation of the directorate clinical governance programme to improve quality of clinical care
- Take lead responsibility for risk management across the directorate
- Line manage the Directorate Patient Safety & Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) team

Requirements

Experience
- Significant experience in a relevant clinical governance role
- Experience working at Masters level or equivalent

About you
- Thorough understanding of clinical governance principles, systems, and their application to improve clinical practice
- Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners to foster successful partnerships
- Good understanding of the changing NHS environment
- Well-developed leadership and influencing skills to motivate and involve individuals and teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and ability to engage with a wide range of professionals
- Strong written communication skills, including report writing and presentation

Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience (essential)
- Masters degree (desirable)

Desirable Skills
- Experience working with RADARs/Datix or similar risk management systems
- Advanced IT software skills
- Experience in governance of community services
