About the Role
The Financial Times is seeking a Senior Reporter to join Sustainable Views, a leading business-to-business publication focused on sustainability rules, regulations, and the evolving geopolitics shaping environmental, social, and governance issues. This role offers the opportunity to join a growing editorial team and deliver impactful journalism on one of the most dynamic beats in business reporting. You will write news stories, insightful analysis, and conduct interviews that explore the challenges and developments in sustainability regulations and their implementation. Additionally, you will contribute to video and social media content, appear on the Sustainable Views podcast, and help develop innovative media offerings including audio and visual content. The role involves building a strong contacts book, attending key events, editing as needed, and supporting the editorial team with various tasks.

Requirements

Experience
- Minimum five years of reporting experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Understanding of sustainable finance and market-based climate change solutions
- Established contacts within sustainability investors and finance institutions
- Proven ability to produce high-quality written copy
- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility with working hours as required

About you
- Positive, proactive, and confident both face-to-face and virtually
- Comfortable with numbers and language
- Enthusiastic about data and its analysis to inform readers
- Interested in sustainable finance, politics, and regulation
- Excited by using audio, video, and social media to engage new audiences

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in journalism or data journalism preferred
- Knowledge of sustainability regulations, climate change, human rights, environmental legislation, and policymaking
- Good numeracy skills
- Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT for data analysis is desirable
