About the Role
Make streets safer and help shape a healthier Enfield. We are building a borough where it’s easier, safer and more enjoyable to walk, cycle and travel. As part of Enfield’s Journeys and Places programme, we are investing in projects that support sustainable transport and public space improvements. We are now seeking a Senior Road Safety Engineer to ensure our streets are designed and delivered with safety at their heart.

You will lead on the road safety aspects of projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with transport planners, engineers and engagement teams, you will provide expert advice to ensure schemes comply with national and local standards and align with our Vision Zero and Healthy Streets commitments.

This is a key technical role within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities include analysing road traffic collision data, developing safety interventions, leading Road Safety Audit (RSA) processes, and supporting wider policy and programme work. You will also work directly with stakeholders including Transport for London, the Metropolitan Police, and local communities.

This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to shape how road safety is embedded into project delivery and the wider service.

Experience
Strong grasp of road safety engineering including collision analysis, Road Safety Audit (RSA) processes, and relevant policy frameworks.

Confident communicator with the ability to translate technical insight into practical solutions. Comfortable working independently and able to provide sound professional judgement aligned with strategic aims. Collaborative and motivated to contribute to a culture that puts customers at the heart of service delivery.

Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications and experience in road safety engineering or related fields are expected to support the technical demands of the role.
