About the Role
The Payments Service team is at the heart of Tesco Technology, serving 28 million shoppers in the UK and abroad. We deliver HTTP services that reliably manage payments at a global scale, 24 hours a day, every day. Our systems process 100 million transactions and billions of events per day, handling a billion pounds every week. At the core of our operation are APIs managing a variety of payment methods including cash, card, and gift card across stores, fuel stations, and online. We also support wallet behaviours, repeat payments, refunds, and identity checks.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer at Tesco, you will be responsible for the entire development and support lifecycle of software programmes. Your applications simplify complex tasks, delivering impact ranging from saving time and money to redefining normal business processes. If you enjoy working on high-impact, business-critical systems, this is the team for you. Our technology stack includes .NET/C#, Cassandra, Docker, HAProxy, and Azure DevOps.
