About the Role
As a Senior Staff Nurse in the Haematology Day Unit, you will independently manage a group of patients within the specialty while working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will deliver individualized and personalized direct patient care, demonstrating appropriate practice and specialist advice in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. This includes history taking, physical examination, and the requesting of agreed diagnostic procedures and clinical investigations. You will be responsible for the correct administration of prescribed medication, including the transfusion of blood and blood products. Additionally, you will assess and recognize emergencies in the specialty, interpret information, take appropriate action, and lead others to do the same. Acting as an advocate for patients within the department, you will ensure a patient-oriented approach to the delivery of care, meeting standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines. Your role will ensure that patients receive high-quality clinical care and a good patient experience, respecting their customs, religious beliefs, and doctrines.
