About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects within the fast-paced Data Centre sector as part of our Mission Critical Facilities team. This role involves developing conceptual designs for electrical distribution systems from EHV, HV, MV to Low Voltage, including high voltage equipment, generation equipment, UPS plant, low voltage switchgear, and power control and monitoring systems. You will provide expert advice to clients on electrical system requirements, lead the design of data centre electrical systems and equipment, and produce technical specifications and reports. Coordination with other disciplines such as Architects and Structural Engineers is essential, as is monitoring installation to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety codes. This role requires client-facing skills to discuss and agree on technical requirements and the ability to work independently as well as part of a global project team. You will join a large Building Services team of over 160 engineers in London, committed to high ethical standards, professionalism, and career development. Experience
Chartered status with CIBSE or IET (or working towards Chartered status) or equivalent experience. Proven technical knowledge of relevant UK and EU regulations and design guides. Experience with electrical design for large power (11kV) distribution systems, electrical building load assessments, standby generation and UPS, fire/voice alarm and security systems, data centres, financial services establishments, lighting design, lifts, and combined heat and power plant.

About you
Ability to lead, direct, and mentor individuals while working effectively as part of a team. Comfortable in client-facing roles with strong communication skills. IT literate with technical understanding of relevant software packages such as Trimble (formerly Amtech), ETAP for HV modelling, and familiarity with the Neher-McGrath method for underground cable temperature and ampacity calculations. Understanding of Tier classifications as defined by The Uptime Institute, TIA942, and EN50600. Experience working with Revit MEP or other 3D design software and AutoCAD to allocate and direct work on projects.

Qualifications
Chartered Engineer status or working towards it. Relevant technical qualifications in electrical engineering or building services engineering. A strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
