About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Cardiovascular Directorate is seeking an outstanding candidate for a 12-month fixed-term or secondment Service Manager (SM) role within the Bexley Cardiology service.
The successful candidate will manage the Bexley Cardiology service, including the Rapid Access Chest Pain clinic and the Lipid and Hypertension services. This role involves overseeing administrative processes in line with Trust Elective Assurance policies and supporting collaborative working across the Cardiovascular Directorate.
The Service Manager will be responsible for the daily operational delivery and continuous improvement of these services, supporting elective recovery and financial targets. They will lead a team of administrative and clerical staff and work closely with senior consultants and clinical nurse specialists across multiple services. Additionally, the SM will support the Deputy General Manager (DGM) in identifying collaborative working opportunities within the region and maintaining established patient pathways.

Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- Proven track record in managing successful projects and/or operational performance improvements, including development and monitoring of output and outcome measures
- Operational experience managing specific services, including design, development, implementation, and management of change in a multi-professional environment
- Experience managing complex budgets from multiple income sources with evidence of individual, team, financial, process, and change management
- Knowledge of operations and/or project management methodologies and techniques
- Understanding of contract management and successful change/project management
- Effective people and project management skills

- Strong management skills including motivating and coaching staff
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and delegate effectively
