Description
As a Functional Skills Maths and English Teacher, you’ll enhance the learner experience, improving attendance, retention, and achievement, and help apprentices progress toward positive destinations. With a particular focus on planning, teaching, and supporting apprentices to complete their Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English, while also providing tutorial support, you’ll actively collaborate with our Academy Team to achieve Peabody’s vision and strategic objectives. You’re an excellent teacher and communicator who enjoys working collaboratively and you’re first rate at engaging with key stakeholders to enable you to support learner engagement, champion diversity, and promote health and wellbeing activities. Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection standards, as well as embedding all relevant policies, are integral to this role. You will work within our Quality Assurance framework to teach great classes, provide meaningful feedback to learners, set and review SMART targets and track learner progress. Additionally, you will help coordinate Functional Skills exams and play an active role in quality management processes to ensure compliance with awarding body regulations and deliver against OFSTED standards To be successful in this role you’ll need to be in the office for 2 or 3 days per week and the remaining time you’ll be able to work remotely. Your role covers delivering sessions in the classroom, online, and within the workplace, as well as provide tailored 1-2-1 support. Experience of delivering apprenticeship programmes in any of the following is beneficial but not essential; Level 3 Business Admin, Level 3 Customer Service Specialist, Level 3 Housing and Property Management, Level 3 Team Leader or Level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager. You will demonstrate excellent communication, IT, time management, and organisational skills, as well as an understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and equal opportunities policies. You’ll be able to work independently, under pressure, and in an agile environment.
