About the Role
At M Group Energy, we deliver essential infrastructure services across electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation. Join our Metering team, the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, delivering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.
As a Smart Meter Dual Fuel Engineer, you will respond to emergency and maintenance appointments on behalf of EON, ensuring customers' Smart Meters are working correctly. You will complete around 5 jobs per day, including installation and removal of SMETS2 smart meters in customers' homes. Customer service is a top priority; you will explain the benefits and safe usage of smart meters while working independently and engaging with customers.
You will travel around your area using a tablet to manage your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance. Continuous training will be provided to maintain and develop your skills. Health and safety is central to your role, supported by a comprehensive onboarding journey. You will be part of a supportive team with regular meetings and field manager assistance.
This role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for progression, including internal promotion to field management roles.
Experience
- Experience installing gas and electric smart meters
- Previous MOCOPA experience to a multi-rate level is desirable
- Holding CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 all with MET1, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel is required
About you
- Valid UK driving licence held for at least 1 year with less than 6 points
- Enjoy working independently and engaging with customers
- Strong customer service focus and good communication skills
- Motivated to learn and develop within the energy sector
Qualifications
- Required: CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1 or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel
- Bonus qualifications: REGT1, 3 phase, Medium Pressure qualification
- Ideally registered on the EUSR portal (not essential)
