The head and neck oncology service at Guys Hospital manages patients across the cancer pathway from diagnosis requiring surgical and/or oncological treatment through to rehabilitation, survivorship and palliative care. The CHANT service provides highly specialist care closer to home, offering a total of 9 MDT community clinics across the 6 boroughs of South East London. The post-holder will likely cover 2 of these clinics on a weekly basis. The CHANT team comprises dietitians, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, clinical nurse specialists, a clinical psychologist, therapy assistants and administrative staff. Applicants should have substantial experience in nutrition support and previous work within a head and neck oncology setting is preferred. The department of Nutrition and Dietetics is made up of an Adult and Paediatric Nutrition workforce of over 100 staff, generating an income of over 10m. This is a highly complex service, delivering highly specialised Dietetics as part of clinical services across the Trust, and into the Community, including providing professional guidance for our catering services and ensuring our compliance with Nutrition Standards for the Trust.
