About the Role
Kurt Geiger is an inclusive, creative footwear and accessories brand inspired by the energy and diversity of London. We are looking for a Junior to Mid-Weight Store Designer to join our Store Design team, supporting the rollout of Kurt Geiger stores and concessions across the UK and internationally. This hands-on retail design role involves working within established brand concepts and adapting them intelligently to suit individual locations, store formats, and site conditions.
You will work across a varied portfolio including standalone stores, department store concessions, outlets, refurbishments, and smaller store interventions. The role covers the full design process from initial space planning and concept adaptation through to 3D visualisation, design intent, and technical drawing packages. Our fast-paced, international project pipeline often involves multiple concurrent projects across different markets.
Key responsibilities include developing store designs from initial survey and site information to approved design intent packages; adapting established Kurt Geiger store concepts to different footprints and formats while maintaining brand consistency; producing fixture layouts, reflected ceiling plans, flooring plans, elevations, sections, and detailed design drawings; creating high-quality 3D visualisations using SketchUp and V-Ray for design development, internal reviews, landlord submissions, and design intent packs.
Additional duties involve developing shopfronts, signage, finishes, lighting layouts, and architectural elements within the established store concept; coordinating store layouts with visual merchandising, product densities, operational requirements, and customer circulation; reviewing surveys, landlord drawings, and technical criteria; preparing comprehensive drawing and visual packages for approvals; liaising with external architects, millworkers, contractors, and suppliers; supporting value engineering and alternative solutions; attending site surveys, installations, and snagging visits; and maintaining accurate drawing revisions and project information across multiple live projects. There are also opportunities to support international projects with potential overseas travel.
Experience
- Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or a related discipline.

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.
- Strong space-planning skills and a good creative eye.
- Good technical drawing ability and understanding of how designs translate into built environments.
- Knowledge of materials, finishes, joinery, and retail detailing.
- Ability to interpret surveys, landlord drawings, and technical information.
- Understanding of the relationship between design, visual merchandising, and retail operations.
- Commercial awareness balancing brand, quality, programme, and cost.
- Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work at pace.
- Proactive and resourceful with confidence to identify problems and propose solutions.
- Collaborative approach with ability to work effectively with internal teams, consultants, suppliers, and international partners.
