About the Role
We are seeking an in-store HR Administrator to support the Stratford store, playing a key role in supporting the store’s continued growth and people agenda. You will act as the first point of contact for HR and administrative matters at store level, reporting into the Store and Area Managers with a dotted line to the HR Business Partner. You will work closely with the in-store management team and the wider HR community within UNIQLO UK.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring each stage of the employee lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, contracts, variations, etc.) is completed accurately and timely. You will handle employee data with strict confidentiality and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with GDPR. Monitoring employee timesheets daily and managing the payroll process with great attention to detail to ensure 100% accuracy will be key.
You will manage recruitment alongside Store Managers, including screening applicants, interviewing candidates, extending job offers, and issuing contracts. Delivering smooth induction and training for new starters, collaborating on staffing and rota management, supporting staff development and workforce planning, and contributing to a positive and inclusive store culture are essential parts of the role.
You will also independently advise managers and employees on straightforward employee relations matters, support data analysis to identify trends and improvements, and be the first point of contact for employee queries regarding payroll, contracts, holidays, and other HR-related questions. Additional duties include answering queries from the Customer Service Team and customers, maintaining business-related information in the staff room and back office, ensuring the back office is clean and tidy, completing money/banking tasks on time, managing routine and ad-hoc back of house admin duties, and supporting customer service and shop floor tasks as required.
Experience
Previous experience in an HR generalist or administrative role within a retail environment is required. Good knowledge of HR policies and best practices with hands-on experience managing employee relations cases is essential. Strong understanding of payroll processes is also necessary.
About you
You should have a passion for retail and a sound understanding of how the sector operates. Being highly organised with strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills is important. You must be an effective communicator with confidence to work across multiple levels and stores. Discretion, approachability, and the ability to handle confidential information with trust are critical. A can-do attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment are required. Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is expected.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are stated; however, relevant HR or retail administration qualifications would be advantageous.
