About the Role
This is a great opportunity to work closely with design, field, and principal engineers and develop all-round skills. You will also have the chance to work on Capital Projects and small rechargeable schemes as well as day-to-day maintenance. As a Street Lighting Technician, you will report into the Senior Engineer and carry out the following duties:
• Undertake duties relating to the planned and routine maintenance of street lighting assets.
• Set up and maintain databases.
• Carry out ad hoc inspections and condition surveys.
• Handle ground work for small projects.
As we are a hybrid working organisation, you will be provided with a Chromebook and the expectancy is that you come into the office approximately between 2-3 days a week depending on project requirements and role.

About Us
The Design and Delivery Department is made of 25 staff delivering planned capital projects onto the ground from start to finish. The team is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of highway designers, planned maintenance engineers, street lighting engineers, traffic order officers, land surveyors, and traffic survey officers. The team coordinates to deliver projects of varying sizes on behalf of the Royal Borough of Kingston and the London Borough of Sutton. This is an amazing opportunity to work in a highway design team that covers all facets of delivery, from initial feasibility through detailed design to site supervision and contractor management.

Requirements

Experience
Some relevant experience or HNC/HND qualifications would be desirable.

• Have a keen interest in street lighting infrastructure & innovation and how it relates to the wider projects.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required, but relevant experience or HNC/HND qualifications would be advantageous.
