About the Role

The Supervisor (Portering) will provide essential operational support to deliver a 24/7 frontline Portering service, ensuring exemplary service standards and effective communication between the Portering service and clinical teams. You will supervise the day-to-day operations of porters and dispatchers, managing resource deployment, compliance, logistics, and workforce management. Leading the General Porters, you will ensure the Portering Service meets agreed standards and Trust values, monitoring performance and addressing any issues in consultation with management.

In addition, you will support dispatching duties during absences or breaks of existing dispatchers and may cover for Portering Site Leaders as required, maintaining staff records, training data, sickness absence information, and disciplinary documentation.

The role requires physical fitness due to regular walking and manual handling duties around the hospital site. You will work within a dynamic environment committed to high quality patient care and staff development.

Qualifications
- Educated to NVQ level standard or equivalent experience
- Good command of oral and written English
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
