About the Role
Change lives. Shape futures. Lead with purpose. Every year, hundreds of young people with learning disabilities face barriers to getting into work. At Mencap, we believe they deserve the chance to shine — and that’s where you come in. We’re looking for an inspirational Supported Internship Programme Coach to lead our Supported Employment programmes across London. This full-time, permanent position offers you the chance to oversee a programme that transforms potential into achievement — giving young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) the skills, confidence, and experience to move into paid work.
As Programme Coach, you will lead the delivery of the programme, ensuring it meets our curriculum, Ofsted, and Department for Education (DfE) standards. You will manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure maximum impact, use quality frameworks to track and improve programme success, and line-manage Programme Coordinators who oversee local teams of Tutors, Job Coaches, and Employer Engagement Officers. Building strong relationships with stakeholders including Local Authorities, employers, schools, and colleges will be a key part of your role.
This is more than a job — it’s a chance to change lives and help young people with learning disabilities take that all-important step into paid work. Most of the programme happens in real workplaces, with Mencap supporting learners to boost their Maths and English skills along the way — building their confidence, independence, and employability.
Join Mencap and be part of a diverse and inclusive workplace where every colleague is supported to thrive. We value authenticity, passion, and purpose — so bring your whole self to work and make a meaningful difference every day.
