About the Role
UNIQLO, a leading brand of the Fast Retailing Group and one of the largest apparel retailers worldwide, is seeking a Sustainability Manager for the UK. This role is responsible for leading country-level sustainability initiatives including project delivery, communications, reporting, administration, and volunteering activities in close partnership with regional project groups. The position aims to strengthen sustainability engagement among employees, increase awareness among customers and media, and contribute to making UNIQLO the most loved brand in Europe.

The Sustainability Manager will lead the development and execution of the UK sustainability roadmap, translating EU priorities into a clear seasonal plan and country-level calendar. You will drive cross-functional sustainability initiatives in partnership with global, regional, and local teams, ensuring strong delivery, visibility, and alignment with business priorities. Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the effectiveness of sustainability projects and communications will be key, using insights to strengthen impact and inform future activity.

Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leaders to embed sustainability across the organisation is essential, as is representing UNIQLO externally with UK NGOs, partners, forums, and industry events. The role involves managing relationships with non-profit organisations to design and deliver meaningful volunteering opportunities with social and environmental value.

You will conduct research and stay informed on evolving industry best practices to ensure retail operations, products, and services continuously align with sustainability priorities. Championing diversity and inclusion as core business principles, supporting initiatives for people with disabilities, refugees, and other underrepresented groups is also a vital part of this role.

Additional responsibilities include monitoring and reporting sustainability KPIs across social contribution, RE.UNIQLO initiatives, and sustainability communications for the UK business, supporting integration of sustainability into recruitment, training, store operations, product and sales activity, PR, marketing, and digital communications.

Specifically for RE.UNIQLO & Circularity, you will define and drive the RE.UNIQLO strategy, identify new growth opportunities across the UK, support the development and roll-out of RE.UNIQLO Studios including new openings, and assess innovative circular business models such as resale and other value-creation initiatives.

This role offers a unique opportunity to unlock the power of clothing across the pillars of People, Planet, and Society, delivering visible, measurable impact that supports customer loyalty, employee pride, retention, and brand reputation in the UK.
