About the Role
Are you passionate about working with young people and looking for a fulfilling career? We are seeking a warm and dedicated 1:1 (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at Lift North Thoresby. In this role, you will provide tailored support to an individual pupil and occasionally small groups, contributing to a calm, purposeful learning environment where every young person feels safe, seen and supported. While the role is predominantly one-to-one support, flexibility to work across the school is required at times.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting a child on a one-to-one basis or in small groups during focused activities
- Encouraging language development through play, songs and conversation
- Observing and recording progress and feeding back to the class teacher
- Supporting personal care needs with kindness and dignity
- Helping to create stimulating, well-organised learning spaces
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families and staff
- Promoting good behaviour, emotional well-being and a sense of belonging

*This role has been created to support a specific child. If that child moves on from the school, the contract may end earlier than expected.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience supporting pupils within a school setting is desirable
- Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc
- Understanding of child development and how children learn

- Commitment to promoting good behaviour, emotional well-being and a sense of belonging
- UK right to work (this role is not eligible for sponsorship)

Qualifications
- Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification required
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous
- If working towards Level 3, support is available through our Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Programme to develop skills and confidence
