Hours
Full Time - 37 hours per week. This is a business-critical role requiring full time hours. Shift pattern includes 5 days over a 6 day working week, including Saturdays and/or Public Holidays.
Salary
£33,551 per annum
About the Role
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales as well as the reserved unified tribunals across the United Kingdom. Our Team Leaders play a critical role in helping deliver justice by providing excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management. You will lead your team to deliver business objectives, ensuring outstanding service aligned with local, regional and national priorities.
As a Team Leader, you will motivate and support your team’s wellbeing and performance, creating a sense of purpose and recognising successes. You will develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including the judiciary. This role is shaped by the Civil Service Line Management Standards and requires strong leadership to drive performance, manage attendance, and champion reward and recognition.
The role is office based and may require occasional travel between courts, particularly for the Willesden Magistrates’ Court position. You will be expected to work within a flexible and inclusive working culture that supports learning and development, with access to leadership development programmes to build your confidence and capability as a leader.
Please note this role does not meet the eligibility criteria for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship unless you have held such a visa continuously since before 22 July 2025.
Experience
Proven ability to lead and develop others, enabling them to gain the skills, confidence and experience to thrive in their roles. Strong organisational skills to prioritise, plan, allocate and manage work effectively. Experience in managing difficult and challenging situations with professionalism and swift problem resolution. Confident in analysing data to make informed decisions to improve and maintain performance. Proficient in IT and able to learn new systems quickly.
