About the Role
At Dell Technologies, innovation means challenging assumptions and reimagining how work gets done. Within ISG, engineers define intent, author precise specifications, and orchestrate AI agents that execute at speed and scale. AI is embedded throughout our development process, helping us move faster, learn quicker, and deliver greater impact. However, the most important contribution remains uniquely human: deciding what to build, designing how it should work, and applying the judgment needed to earn our customers' trust. When your products power critical infrastructure around the world, that responsibility matters.
We move quickly toward the work that matters most, rewarding experimentation, encouraging bold thinking, and removing unnecessary barriers so great ideas can become reality faster. Our teams embrace a customer-first, first-to-market mindset, transforming rapid feedback into better products and better outcomes. We seek builders who question the status quo, improve it, and occasionally rewrite it.
If you are energized by solving complex systems challenges, excited to work alongside AI to amplify your impact, and motivated by the opportunity to shape what's next rather than simply maintaining what’s been done before, you will find your place here. Join us and help build the future of enterprise technology.
From applied research to advanced engineering, the Engineering Technologist team shapes ground-breaking products, materials, and processes. We assess the competition, develop technology and product strategies, generate intellectual property, lead technology investigations, analyze industry capabilities, and recommend potential acquisitions or vendor partnerships. Our insights influence product architecture and definitions, collaborating across the business to ensure our products lead the way.
As a Data Center Architect on our Engineering Technologist Team, you will lead the development of end-to-end Power and/or Thermal solutions from the server to data center. This includes air and liquid cooled servers, transformers, bus bars, PDUs, CDUs, and integrated rack solutions for deployment across diverse data center environments. You will innovate power-saving solutions for increasingly dense IT deployments and optimize cost, energy efficiency, and performance at server, rack, and row scales.
You will work closely with key external partners to create differentiated solutions and clearly communicate complex thermal system concepts to customers, colleagues, and upper management.
Experience
- Advanced working knowledge of key Thermal and/or Power technologies
- Experience with data center power distribution, generation, or consumption technologies from server to rack to data hall
- Knowledge of and relationships with key suppliers of data center power management components
- Customer and partner project/program leadership experience
About you
- Ability to take a concept to product
- Willingness and ability to negotiate competing interests and priorities to achieve the best possible outcome for all stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand competitive and business needs while developing technical solutions
- Ability to assess customer requirements and develop blueprints based on customer geographical area
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%-30%
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include demonstrated expertise in thermal and power technologies relevant to data centers and proven leadership in project and program management. A strong customer focus and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively are critical for success in this role.
