About the Role
A career at Janus Henderson is more than a job; it’s about investing in a brighter future together. Our mission is to help clients achieve superior financial outcomes through differentiated insights, disciplined investments, and world-class service. We are seeking a Trading Data & AI Analyst to join our EMEA Equity Trading team. This is a technical role focused on leveraging AI and data analytics to improve trading desk processes, automate outputs, and build innovative tools. You will own the AI and automation agenda, working closely with Traders and Portfolio Managers to understand their workflows and pain points, and deliver clear, well-designed solutions that enhance decision-making and efficiency.
You will analyse complex trading datasets using Python and AI tooling, uncovering trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities related to execution analytics, Transaction Cost Analysis, Algo Wheel configuration, market microstructure, and European regulatory requirements. You will modernise the desk’s outputs to be automated, visually engaging, and insightful. Additionally, you will help build AI confidence across the team by running demos, sharing practical examples, and contributing to the firm’s wider AI community.
Janus Henderson offers a supportive environment with generous holiday policies, excellent health and wellbeing benefits including corporate ClassPass membership, paid volunteer time, professional development support, parental leave benefits, mindfulness app subscriptions, employee networking events, and lunch allowances. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Reasonable accommodations and flexible working requests are encouraged and supported.
Experience
2-3+ years in a technical, data, or analytics environment. Financial services exposure is a plus but not required.
About you
You are deeply experienced with AI and data, not just familiar. You write code assisted by AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code), have strong engineering judgement to produce safe and reliable solutions, and are numerically sharp with the ability to work with large, complex datasets. You communicate technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and have a delivery mindset focused on building lasting solutions. You are proactive, quick to learn, and eager to improve existing processes.
You are comfortable working alongside traders and portfolio managers, understanding their needs and workflows, and translating these into effective AI-driven tools. You are enthusiastic about sharing AI knowledge and elevating team capabilities. You embrace diversity and inclusion and are willing to adhere to regulatory and firm policies.
