About the Role
Start your journey with the British Transport Police (BTP). A vacancy has become available for a Police Sergeant - Deputy Force Incident Manager to join the Force Control Room team based at FCRL (Force Control Room London) FHQ, London. This is a key operational role responsible for managing risk and ensuring an effective and proportionate policing response to live incidents. The successful candidate will play a central role in command and control, supporting the delivery of high-quality service to the public and working alongside a Force Incident Manager.

The successful applicant will provide support to the Force Incident Manager (FIM) and use the National Decision Model to evidence decisions made during incident management. They will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate deployment of operational resources to live incidents and taking initial incident command of a variety of incidents.

Please note this is a specialist position requiring training as a Tactical Firearms Commander. The role also entails a minimum tenure period of 24 months. For further information regarding the role, please refer to the attached job description.

Requirements

Experience
Applicants must be a current or former officer from a Home Office Police Force, Police Scotland, or PSNI. Transferees must be substantive in rank of Sergeant and have completed probation. Re-joiners must apply within 5 years of leaving and have been substantive in rank. Must be operationally deployable.

About you
Applicants must not be subject to stage 2 or above sickness proceedings, have no live misconduct warnings or performance issues, and cannot be under current investigation by another force. Must have lived in the UK for the past 3 consecutive years. No active County Court Judgments (CCJs), unmanaged Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs), or bankruptcy. Applications will not be accepted from those dismissed from another force or those declined vetting at another force within the last 2 years.

Qualifications
Training as a Tactical Firearms Commander is required for this role. Other qualifications are not specified but relevant policing experience and rank are essential.
